Enter the Refuge of a Brand New Cove
Located along the oldest man-made lake on the Catawba, discover a waterside retreat where you can immerse yourself in the shores, the sun, and the sands of North Carolina.
In 1904, Dr. Walker Gill Wylie, his brother, and other engineers dreamed up a brand-new idea: electricity for the emerging textile plants of Charlotte could be generated more easily by harnessing the power of naturally running water. Thus, the first dam and hydro-plant were built, creating what is now known as Lake Wylie.
Now, we’re also harnessing the power of the lake to create something fresh with our own natural style.
Connecting you to a breezy and adventurous life of smooth sailing across more than 12,000 acres of water, the feeling of a carefree life on the water, and endlessly elegant southern charm—welcome to The Lakehouse on Wylie.
